Abstract

The journey toward developing an artificial pancreas represents a convergence of biomedical engineering and compassionate innovation. For individuals grappling with diabetes, the quest for smarter medical devices and improved equipment is paramount. Enter the artificial pancreas-an ingenious fusion of insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring technology. This harmonious duo automates blood glucose management, dynamically adjusting insulin levels to help individuals maintain optimal blood sugar levels. In this project, we undertake a small-scale journey by building a circuit that mimics an artificial pancreas. Instead of using insulin and blood, we utilize two basic liquids: tap water and distilled water. Our objective is to optimize this circuit to effectively and safely control simulated 'blood sugar' levels. The heart of our endeavour lies in an Arduino-a programmable microcontroller that orchestrates interactions with electronic circuits. As we delve into this scientific voyage, we glimpse the promise of a future where technology and empathy intersect to enhance lives.
