Abstract

This study addresses the optimization of electric vehicles in the contemporary automotive landscape by proposing demand management strategies for seamless grid connectivity. The focus is on designing a comprehensive microgrid system integrating solar arrays, battery storage, Electric Vehicles, and residential loads. The simulation in Simulink/MATLAB evaluates the performance under various cases, including islanded and grid-connected modes and dynamic residential load variations. Despite potential Plug-in Electric Vehicle lifespan reduction, the analysis suggests the economic viability of Vehicle to Grid operations for both vehicle owners and grid operators. The study also explores Vehicle to Grid technology and its features aiming to contribute to sustainable and intelligent energy systems. The average power transfer efficiency is observed as 92.5% for Vehicle to Grid, 56% for Grid to Vehicle and 50% for Vehicle-to-Vehicle methodologies.
