Abstract

This paper discusses a method for utilizing frequency selective surface to increase the performance of microstrip patch antennas. This method increases the antenna's gain by using artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) as the ground plane. Square cells are used in the construction of the AMC structures. Between 2 and 6 GHz, the return loss is simulated and quantified. With AMC and FR-4 as the substrate, the suggested antenna is intended to have an impedance bandwidth of 2.7 GHz to 3.2 GHz. Computer simulation technology is used to do numerical analysis and provide the best possible design (3D simulation software).
