Abstract

The increasing demands for high-voltage and power electronic converter prevents power semiconductor switches from being directly linked to a high-voltage network based on Micro grids are emerging as one of the key elements of the future power network. Based on outcomes, the dynamic interaction between the distribution voltage range power grid and the DC power network with battery energy storage enables immediate power balancing and reliability of the system. Without mains-frequency transformers and with the addition of a front-end regulation employing an AC-DC modular multi-level inverter, a modular approach to power grid infrastructures is achieved. Solar and wind energy, which are combined with other energy sources and frequently connected to a grid system, make up the system under consideration for the proposed work. The results of the power converter operational level and ac grid level simulation model developed on the converter with overall renewable energy resources are offered.
