Abstract

In order to fulfill the consumer load requirement, the generation of electrical energy should be increased hence installing of generating stations should be increased. To prevent all these unwanted investments load management should be done in a judicial manner which will ensure that produced electrical power is utilized with reduced losses in an efficient way. Electrical load management technologies in general, help to prevent excess demand charges by minimizing peak demand reducing the impact of utility power outages, reducing the utility company's power factor penalties, reducing the negative effects of low power factor or high harmonic content and automatically monitoring an electrical distribution system. This paper proposes a system with smart techniques for electrical load management which is intended to gain advanced control and minimize costs. IoT is also used to make this demand side management smart by providing an interface for consumers.
