Abstract
Vehicular-Ad hoc Networks are a specific type of wireless ad hoc network that are created with the goal of enabling on the fly communication between vehicles by the side of the road. This technology was primarily developed to control traffic intelligently, minimizing idling, discomfort, and fatalities while travelling, as well as to increase the convenience of public transportation by assuring constant traffic flow. Yet, some unforeseen occurrences might disrupt regular traffic patterns and jeopardize the betterment of on-road vehicles, including natural disasters, accidents, deteriorated roads, unexpected vehicle breakdowns, and the appearance of emergency vehicles. To make sure the betterment of on-road vehicles and prevent collisions of the vehicles that occur due to improper communications or communication attacks, the project proposes an efficient routing protocol with collision avoidance (ERPCA) to identify vehicles with the reliability to transfer information on time and avoid the inconveniences of travelling. According to the ERPCA study conducted using the network simulator 2, the performance of the vehicle ad hoc networks has improved. The desired ERPCA is proven to be enhanced practicability in vehicular networks by the enhancement of transmission ratio, delivery rate, reduction of failure, energy efficiency, and minimized transmission jitter. Compared to existing cloud-based security support mechanisms for VANETs, ERPCA has a 20% enhanced rate of transmission, hence providing safer and more reliable driving experiences.
