Abstract

This paper explores the comparison between Model Predictive Control [MPC] and Proportional Integral Control [PID] on a furnace temperature control system making it an automatic system. Furnace temperature control plays a vital role in various industrial processes, such as metal smelting, glass manufacturing, and heat treatment. The conventional manual control methods often result in temperature fluctuations, inefficient energy consumption, and suboptimal product quality. To address these issues, the comparison of the above system comes in handy. It contributes to the advancement of automation technologies, optimizing energy usage, improving product quality, and increasing overall productivity in industrial applications.
