Abstract
This work presents a smart bus management system designed to enhance public transport through the integration of multiple modern technologies. The system features automated door control using proximity sensors, facial recognition for secure passenger identification, cashless fare collection, real-time location tracking via GPS, and onboard environmental monitoring. Doors operate automatically in response to passenger movement, improving safety and reducing manual intervention. As passengers board, a facial recognition module logs their travel details, eliminating the need for tickets while storing journey data securely in a central database. Cashless transactions are handled through direct linkage to digital wallets or bank accounts, simplifying fare management. The system also tracks each vehicle's position, speed, and estimated arrival times, making this information available to commuters through a connected application. By combining automation, security, and data-driven insights, the proposed system aims to improve the overall efficiency, safety, and convenience of urban bus transport.
